About the Role:
LTS Research Laboratories Inc is looking for a detail-oriented and safety-focused Hazardous Materials Shipping Specialist to join our team in Belmont, NC. This is a critical role where your expertise in hazmat compliance and logistics will help ensure the safe and efficient movement of specialized materials.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare and process hazardous materials shipments in compliance with DOT and IATA, and IMDG regulations
· Classify, label, mark, and package hazardous materials according to applicable federal and international standards
· Complete and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hazmat declarations
· Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure timely and compliant shipments
· Conduct routine audits of shipping procedures and materials to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
· Maintain hazmat training records and assist in training staff on proper handling and shipping procedures
· Monitor and respond to changes in hazardous materials shipping regulations and update internal processes accordingly
Requirements:
· Experience in hazardous materials shipping, logistics, or a related compliance role
· Working knowledge of DOT 49 CFR, IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, and/or IMDG Code
· IATA Dangerous Goods or DOT Hazmat certification preferred
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
· Proficiency in shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite
· Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
· Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across departments

TEAM

Our team of shipping and compliance staff ensure our customers are satisfied. They handle shipments across the globe, interface with the customer, and conduct quality control measurements of the products.
We also have chemists and engineers engaged in an environmental analysis laboratory with wet chemistry and analytical materials characterization services such as GDMS, ICP, XRD.
Finally, the sputtering group consists of mechanical, electrical, thin film, and production engineers who design and build custom deposition systems, closely interpreting and following customer's specifications.
